There’s nothing we love more than getting off the beaten track. Yabby Lake is one of these destinations - frequented by many, yet tucked away and hidden from some, as they approach the Balnarring exit (off the Peninsula Link).
Vulcano Gelato in Rye has a deep connection to the Ritrovo Remigio’ – a café established in 1960 on the breathtakingly beautiful island of Vulcano located off the coast of Sicily, Italy. It was here at Ritrovo Remigio that the secret base recipe of gelato served in Vulcano Gelato was inspired and cultivated. In 2008, Vulcano Gelato opened in Rye with the single hearted aim of improving the quality and taste of the universally loved authentic Italian gelato and granita.

Summer is the buzz of the alfresco scene in Red Hill or the scrumptious aromas wafting over the vines from neighbouring properties. Summer is the scent of gums on the Merricks Trail, the smell of wildflowers on surrounding farms or the summer breeze touching your face whilst your bathing in the glow of afternoons sunlight.
There’s nothing like a coastal holiday; a ‘home-away-from-home’, but what if your family (like many) has a four-legged friend in their pack? Do you leave them behind? If you do take them on holiday, the inevitable questions arise. Are the facilities secure? Are the accommodations up to our standard? If you can’t take them then the inevitable feelings of guilt & separation anxiety arise.

It’s summertime at Main Ridge Dairy, the season for their award winning hard cheeses - called Caprinella & Capony. This time of year the milk volume from the goats generally drops as feed hardens. Like all things from this award winning dairy, good planning and care prevails and due to the great cut of silage this year (harvested on the farm) the girls are well fed through summer which keeps them happy.
