<p>From the tropical forests of Far North Queensland, to Aboriginal in-depth representations of Country, the lands of the Centre to the green hues and coastal views of the Mornington Peninsula, this year&#8217;s summer exhibition at Whistlewood comprises the work of more than 40 leading landscape artists whose work explores a distinctive connection to place.</p>
<p>20/20 A Sense of Place is a unique mix of Indigenous artists and those from diverse cultural backgrounds from the Mornington Peninsula, Vic, Qld, NSW, WA, NT, the APY Lands, the Pilbara, the Kimberley, the Tiwi Islands &amp; Arnhem Land with 80 + paintings, ochres, works on paper, barks, contemporary jewellery, small sculptures and other 3D works.</p>
<p>Highlights include a suite of small gems by leading artists of Papunya Tula; differing views of the Mornington Peninsula and Western Port by John Anderson, Miodrag Jankovic, Robert Kelly, Stephen May, Jennifer Riddle, Rupert Betheras and others; striking black and white works by Barbara Mbitjana Moore, Freddie Timms, Barbara Weir, Yirrkala bark artists and printmaker Martin King; very different views of the Alice Springs environs by David Beaumont and Emma Stuart; botanical prints by John Wolseley, Marina Strocchi and Kit Hiller; in depth explorations of forests by FNQ artist Claudine Marzik and Dandenong Ranges painter Mary Tonkin; sweeping colour works by Wynne Prize winners the Ken sisters from the APY Lands; works on paper by street artist and muralist Tom Civil; contemporary landscapes by Fred Fowler, Jenny Bell and TextaQueen; glowing hyper-real views by Mark Fox; brilliant colour works by leading Aboriginal artists Nora Wompi, Eubena Nampitjin, Teresa Baker, Keith Stevens, Emily Pwerle, Imelda Guguman and many more.</p>
<p>3 D works feature landscape-based jewellery by Melinda Young, felt &amp; mixed media wall works by Heather Shimmen and small sculptures by Peter D. Cole, Tjanpi Desert Weavers and Arnhem Land carvers.</p>
<p>Illustrated talk and meet the artists. Saturday January 21 at 3 pm. The Landscape in Contemporary Australian Art, Susan McCulloch OAM. Followed by drinks with the artists. (RSVP<br />

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Experience Aboriginal art in a new way with our unique Art Parade of 70+ vibrant paintings, barks, ceramics &amp; carvings from around Australia that opens our Summer Salon exhibition on January 16 at 2.30 pm.</p>
<p>Part art lecture, part theatrical event the Parade features works from 20+ leading art centres paraded for viewing while informative commentary is given by art authority Susan McCulloch OAM. (Seating limited &amp; bookings essential)</p>
<p>The exhibition features outstanding works by leading artists and rising stars from the Central, Western &amp; Eastern Deserts, Utopia, the APY Lands, the Kimberley, the Pilbara, Arnhem Land and the Mornington Peninsula.</p>
<p>Artists represented include Barbara Weir, Charmaine Pwerle (Utopia), Rita Cithara Beasley, Daisy Moss (Ampilatwatja), Keith &amp; Tjpampawa Stevens, Anyupa Stevens, Maringka Baker, Tuppy Goodwin, Robert Fielding, David Miller, Vicki Cullinan, Barbara Moore (APY Lands), Freddie Timms, Claude Carter (the Kimberley), Yalmakany Marawili, John Mawurndjul (Arnhem Land), Tjunkiya Napaltjarri, Joseph Jurrra, Walala Tjapaltarri (Papunya), Robert Kelly (Mornington Peninsula), Nora Wompi, Bugai Whyoulter (the Pilbara) and many more!</p>
