Tuesdays to Sundays through March
6 March 2020, 10:00 AM to 31 March 2020, 5:00 PM
A new year, a new decade and a new era have begun at Mornington Peninsula Regional Gallery (MPRG) as it leaps into its 50th anniversary year. The 2020 program highlights and celebrates the development, growth, complexity and richness of the collection, kicking off with three new exhibitions from 6 March – 26 April and a newly commissioned large scale mural.
A Collection of Stranger Things – curated by New Zealand born, Melbourne-based artist Patrick Pound, the exhibition reveals a hidden microcosm both objects and artworks that have rarely been displayed before.
In Conversation with Patrick Pound – join MPRG’s senior curator Danny Lacy and collections curator Narelle Russo on a walkthrough and discussion of the exhibition (free with exhibition entry)
With a Little Help from our Friends – showcases 30 works curated by the Friends of MPRG since 1996.
In addition to these exhibitions, MPRG is excited to present a new commission featuring the work of Melbourne-based artist and illustrator Carla McRae. Her new large-scale mural at MPRG plays with geometric forms and bold vibrant colour, activating the space with playfulness and lightness.
