After a relatively cold and wet winter on the peninsula, Spring has sprung and the boys are in full swing with a fresh and reinvigorated menu. Every time we mention Volpino, someone inevitably says, “Oh, I love that place!” Located on entry to Mount Martha Village by the sea, Volpino has a great outdoor deck that capitalises on those beautiful sunny days and the idea of a leisurely lunch, but its also complemented by the coziness of an indoor dinning room.

Volpino is the kind of place that comes to mind when you want to share a pizza or spaghetti with your date, or you can roll in with a group of eight to catch up on stories on adventures or just to eat good food. The menu is simple yet sophisticated – pastas, salads, pizza and some secondis that always make the most of the seasonal fare. Volpino for us serves very good, well-priced modern Mediterranean fare. It’s pretty laid back and filled with a relatively random mix of people. It’s classic Pen dinning in the best possible way.
