Art & Culture

Arts and Culture is a very important component of LTP as it provides a platform to preserve heritage and a medium for artistic expression that liberates us from our daily lives. The Mornington Peninsula has a distinguished cultural history and flourishing artistic scene and it’s this creative DNA that leads the economy and acts as an investment in the Mornington Peninsula’s future. LTP recognises how much our cultural life contributes to the health of the Mornington Peninsula including the financial and emotional contribution and that is why Arts and culture is at the heart of what we do as an editorial team. The stories we cover here form the fabric and soul of the Pen and this only inspirits us to go further. We hope it does the same for you.

Jenny Riddle

Artist Jenny Riddle was drawn to the Mornington Peninsula by the potential for spiritual renewal and creative inspiration; a powerful combination that she found hard to ignore. That move, and her career as an artist, had been on her mind for some time, but were acted on after life-altering events that caused her to look closely at her life.

McClelland Gallery

There’s a wonderland in Langwarrin (just outside Frankston) that’s larger than life - with over 100 sculptures, 16 hectares of native bushland and landscaped gardens, art gallery and licensed café and to top it off… it’s free. Some of you will know it as McClelland Sculpture Park + Gallery – a truly a world class experience where so much incredible art is blended with nature. We love it here because you’re encouraged to walk the grounds and as you do so you stumble across incredible works of art and nature.
